About Us

Dear DOCF Affiliates, Friends, and Members

“Amazing things happen when women help other women.”
-Madi’s Gospos

Welcome to the official site of Deltas of Charlotte Foundation. Deltas of Charlotte Foundation (DOCF) is a 501©3 organization that was established in 1991 whose main purpose was to support the programs of the Charlotte Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated through public service and scholarships. In 1994, the organization obtained nonprofit 501©3 status. In 2000, DOCF acquired property located at 5408 Beatties Ford Road in Charlotte, North Carolina and in 2011 opened the Delta Center.
As a growing organization, DOCF strategically develops and implements a solid financial base that will support our mission: strengthening the community by implementing and supporting programs that improve the quality of life for women and their families in the greater Charlotte region. Deltas of Charlotte Foundation’s primary partner continues to be the Charlotte Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated (CAC). This collaboration affords DOCF many opportunities to reach women and their families in the greater Charlotte region.
In addition to our partnership with CAC to sponsor the annual Debutante Cotillion and Scholarship Gala, DOCF has contributed thousands of dollars in scholarships and charitable contributions locally through various other partnerships. Some of the efforts supported include Habitat for Humanity, A Child’s Place, Salvation Army, Kids Voting, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and the Urban Ministry.
The Foundation continues to host its annual fundraisers, such as the Legacy of Black Women Film Showcase and BowTies and Pearls. We have been fortunate enough the be a participant in the Rooms in the Inn program to provide overnight housing to our female neighbors who are experiencing temporary homelessness.
Although each member of CAC is a member of DOCF, we have several affiliate members who are not members of the chapter. They are amazing contributors who support and believe in our mission.
It is my pleasure to serve as Chair during this biennium and strongly encourage you to get involved in our amazing Foundation. If you feel led to do so and am not a member of CAC, please click the join button and a member of the membership committee will reach out to you.
Yours in Service,
Sandra Galmon
